Well, let's see... On the 4th of July, 2008, the Diamondbacks played the San Diego Padres at Chase Field in Phoenix. Neither Tim or Regina are baseball fans, but both ended up at that game for different reasons. Regina and her friend Kelley had bought tickets as part of a Law Enforcement Appreciation Package, and Tim was doing a coworker a favor by working the game.
Regina and Kelley were on the elevator to head up to the upper floors during the 7th inning stretch so they could get into position to see the 4th of July fireworks display when Tim and a fellow deputy entered the elevator.... Regina thought he was incredibly handsome and told her friend that she had dibs. Seriously... She did.
After they all were off the elevator, Regina and Kelley decided to be a little sneaky and asked the deputies for directions to the best place to see the fireworks. After explaining to the gentlemen that they were both dispatchers, and witnessing their disbelief due the great shape both the ladies were in, they advised the deputies that they were both planning on being in the next year's DPS Operational Communications Swimsuit Calender. In fact, Regina said she was going to be Miss September and Kelley was going to be Miss October.
For the rest of the night, whenever the ladies passed the deputies, they were referred to as Miss September and Miss October. At the end of the night, Tim asked for Regina's phone number and the rest, as they say, is history.
Tim and Regina still don't like baseball that much, but both love hockey and boxing. Go figure.
We'll be getting married at The Stratosphere in Las Vegas on April 25th at 1:00 pm. The chapel only holds 20 people, but we'll be there for the whole weekend to celebrate with anyone who comes out. *** update on that.... It seems there was quite a bit of interest in seeing us get married, so we upgraded the chapel to the one that holds 50 people.... Get with one of us personally to see how you go about getting in to see the wedding. ***
We'll be having a little bbq/pool party on the 4th of July at our house to celebrate after the wedding but before our honeymoon so we can share our happiness (aw) with the folks who couldn't make it to Vegas. Here's the address:
11237 North 57th Lane
Glendale, AZ 85304
We are staying at The Stratosphere in Vegas, and wouldn't ya know it, that's where we'll be having the reception and some cake... Course, we're cheap, so it's going to be in our room, so more details on that will follow that weekend.
